Hill City Howlers News Release

The Lynchburg Hillcats will return home for an eventful three-game homestand, highlighted by the 3rd Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night. The homestand kicks off with a Friday night contest against the Wilmington Blue Rocks at 6:05 p.m. A post-game fireworks show presented by Dickey's Barbecue Pit will follow the conclusion of Friday's game.

The Hillcats will host the 3rd Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night presented by Centra Alan B. Pearson Regional Cancer Center on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. with a variety of pre-game, in-game and post-game festivities. For $10, fans will receive a game ticket and a special black & pink Hillcats "Swing For The Cure" Breast Cancer Awareness t-shirt. Half of the proceeds from ticket sales of Saturday's Lynchburg-Wilmington game will be donated to Susan G. Komen For The Cure, a progressive foundation for breast cancer research.

Fans attending Saturday's contest will have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction beginning when the City Stadium gates open at 5:30 p.m. The auction features 40 unique black and pink game-worn Hillcats jerseys and 10 pink genuine Louisville Slugger autographed bats, signed by the 2009 Hillcats.

Additionally, fans can bid on nine game-used pink bats. The auction will end at the conclusion of the 6th inning. After the game, the high bidder for each item will receive their jersey or bat from Hillcats players on the field. The winning bidder for each jersey will also receive a special black and pink Hillcats cap. The net proceeds from the silent auction will be donated to Susan G. Komen For The Cure.

Sunday's series finale with Wilmington features a tote bag giveaway. The first 500 fans to pass through the City Stadium turnstiles for Sunday's 2:05 p.m. game will receive a tote bag, compliments of Uncle Bob's Self-Storage. Sunday is also Area Youth Baseball Day. All area youth players ages 16 & under will receive free admission to the game if they wear their team's cap or jersey. Following the completion of Sunday's game, all kids in attendance can run the bases as part of the Hillcats "Kids Run The Bases" promotion presented by Uncle Bob's Self-Storage.

You can purchase your tickets by phone at 434-528-1144, or just stop by the Hillcats front office 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
