The Lunkers sure love to play at Knute Nelson Memorial Park in Alexandria. Brainerd Lakes Area broke out for nine runs to jumpstart the offense in the 9-1 victory over the Beetles on Thursday night.
The Lunkers would get to Beetles pitcher Corey Miller quickly, tagging him for three runs in the Top of the 1st inning. A couple of sacrifice flies from Ryan Abrahamson and Kye Winter would add the second and third runs of the game.
Brainerd would strike for four more runs off of Miller in the 4th inning, with the big two-run single from Steven Brault giving the Lunkers a 7-0 lead.
After the Lunkers and Beetles each added a run, Wade Wass would go deep for his team leading third home run of the season in the Top of the 9th, giving the Lunkers the 9-1 win.
