Lumberkings defeat Chiefs
August 7, 2005 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Clinton LumberKings News Release
Clinton starter John Bannister (6-9; 4.81) reverted to the early-season form that saw him emerge from the season's first month as one of the top pitchers in the Midwest League, dealing seven shutout innings, yielding just three hits and a pair of walks while fanning six to lead the LumberKings to victory in this series opener.
First baseman Jim Fasano (.283 / .347 / .417) provided Bannister with all the support he would need, driving in four runs in a 2-4 outing that included his 15th double of the year.
Catcher Craig Hurba went 3-4 with a double to drive in one and Andrew Wishy delivered an RBI double for his only hit in four at-bats.
Reliever Daniel Touchet (1.38 ERA) allowed a run on three hits over the final two innings to close out the Clinton victory.
