
Lugnuts to Auction Jerseys for Charity

LANSING- The Lansing Lugunts are proud to announce the 2007 Lugnuts Jersey Auction. The team will be auctioning off the home jerseys worn by the Lugnuts during the season. The auction will conclude on Lugnuts Charities Night presented by Dan Henry Distributing as the Lugnuts take on the Fort Wayne Wizards on August 17, 2007 in a 7:05 p.m. game. All of the proceeds from the auction will go to Lugnuts Charities benefiting the United Way.
"We are very excited about Lugnut Charities Night," General Manager Pat Day said. "The Lugnuts are commited to helping the greater Lansing community. The auction is an exciting event that both benefits the community and gives Lugnuts fans the opportunity to own a piece of Lugnuts history."
The auction will begin on the morning of Tuesday, August 14th on the Lugnuts official website, www.lansinglugnuts.com. The web auction will run through Friday, August 17, 2007 at noon. Starting bids will be $90.00 for each jersey. At the close of the website auction, the highest bids will be used as starting bids at the live silent auction during Lugnut Charities Night presented by Dan Henry Distibuting on August 17, 2007. At the conclusion of the live silent auction on the 17th, the winners will be announced. Winning bidders may claim their jerseys after the announcement in an on-field ceremony.
Fans who are unable to attend the game on August 17 are encouraged to place the highest possible bid on their favorite players' jerseys to give them their best chance to win the jersey.
Up for auction are the jerseys of all current Lansing Lugnut coaches and players. All jerseys come with the nameplate of the current player stitched on the back and they also come with a black Lansing Lugnuts undershirt of corresponding size.
Descriptions of each jersey, including size, may be found at www.lansinglugnuts.com when the auction begins. The site also contains information on the player's name stitched on the back.
"We are happy to help the community by auctioning off our jerseys," Lugnuts manager Gary Cathcart said. "The auction will help so many great causes. The team is proud to be a part of it."
Fans are encouraged to bid on their favorite players' jerseys.
Lugnut Charities Night presented by Dan Henry Distributing will take place on August 17, 2007. There will be several ceremonies and check presentations throughout the night honoring various charities in the Lansing area. Fans in attendance will also be treated a a specatular LAFCU Fireworks show following the game and jersey ceremony.
