GRAND CHUTE, Wis. - Sean Ochinko thundered for home with the go-ahead run on a wild pitch in the fifth inning and the Lansing Lugnuts (11-10; 47-43) stopped the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (10-11; 36-53), 6-4, on Friday night at Time Warner Cable Field.

With one out in the fifth, Ochinko smoked a double to left-center against Timber Rattlers starter Damon Krestalude (2-5). After a Brad Glenn groundout advanced the runner to third, a Krestalude curve eluded catcher Cameron Garfield, bringing Ochinko in with the decisive run.

Lugnuts starter Dave Sever (3-6) pitched six innings to earn the victory, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits while striking out four.

The Rattlers made life hairy for reliever Brian Slover in the seventh with a pair of inning-opening singles from Michael Marseco and D'Vontrey Richardson. However, left fielder Eric Eiland made a diving catch of Scooter Gennett's sinking liner and recovered to gun down Marseco at home plate to complete a sensational double play.

Wisconsin never threatened again. Slover set the side down in order in the eighth and Casey Beck pitched a scoreless ninth for his third save.

Ochinko, Kenny Wilson, Kevin Ahrens, and Ryan Schimpf collected two hits apiece to lead the Lansing offense, with Brad Glenn adding a two-run double to cap off a four-run third inning.

On Saturday at 8:00 p.m. ET, the Lugnuts begin a three-game series at Pohlman Field against the Beloit Snappers. Lansing right-hander Ryan Tepera (7-4, 3.38) starts the series opener against Beloit right-hander B.J. Hermsen (4-5, 5.16).
