SUNDAY SERIES FINALE: The Louisville Bats or 'Los Murciélagos' go for the series win in the I-71 Copa Series against the Columbus Clippers 'Los Veleros' Sunday afternoon at Louisville Slugger Field. After a thrilling 9-8 win on Saturday night in which Louisville trailed by 2 runs headed into the ninth, the Bats will try to capture their second home series win of the season with right-hander Vladimir Gutierrez on the mound.

AGAINST COLUMBUS: The Bats go for their second series win over Columbus this season, taking 2 of 3 against the Clip Show from April 8-10 at Huntington Park in what was their first series victory of 2019. The Bats are now 4-5 against the Clippers this season, outscoring them by a narrow 49-46 margin despite being one game below .500 against them.

TRIUMPHANT VICTORY: Until last night, the Bats had not won a game when trailing after 8 innings this season. Going into the bottom of the ninth down 8-6, Brian O'Grady hit a leadoff home run to get the deficit to one, with Nick Longhi scoring on a Sherman Johnson single to tie the game 8-8. The Bats won the game without ever making an out in the ninth, with Narciso Crook delivering the walk-off single with the bases loaded as part of a 4-hit game. It was the Bats' first win when trailing after 8 innings since August 31, 2018 at Indianapolis, trailing 5-4 before scoring 2 runs in the ninth to win 6-5.

WALK-OFF WIN: Crook's RBI single, which missed being a walk-off grand slam by just a few feet, was the Bats' third walk-off win of the season and first since Stuart Turner's bases loaded walk on May 12 vs. Charlotte. It was Crook's first walk-off since Aug. 28 last season with Class AA Pensacola, when his 2-run single scored Aristides Aquino and TJ Friedl to overcome a 4-3 deficit in the 10th to win 5-4. It was Crook's second career 4-hit game, last occurring on July 22, 2015 with Class A Dayton.

STRANDED: Louisville left 13 runners on base in last night's 9-8 win, tying a season-high that was set on Opening Day on April 4 at Toledo. Louisville batted just 1-for-7 with the bases loaded on Saturday, but made its lone hit count, with Crook delivering in the bottom of the ninth.

THE FINAL COUNTDOWN: Louisville snapped its 9-game losing streak on Saturday, its longest string of losses since Aug. 28-Sept. 6, 2015. With a 6-21 (.222) record in the month of June, the Bats need to win Sunday afternoon's contest to ensure they will not set a franchise record for the worst winning percentage in a calendar month, currently held by the 1991 Redbirds, who went 7-22 (.241) in July.

THIS STAT SIMS A LITTLE WEIRD: Right-hander Lucas Sims (4-0, 5.24) is one of just 2 qualified pitchers in professional baseball, levels A through MLB, without a recorded loss this season. The only other pitcher who holds that distinction is Sal Mendez, who is 5-0 in 17 games (7 starts) for the Texas Rangers' Advanced-A Down East Wood Ducks in the Carolina League.
