Chattanooga Lookouts News Release

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - After a slow start, the Lookouts exploded for five runs in the fifth inning against the Mobile BayBears. The big inning propelled Chattanooga to a 5-2 win in Saturday night action at AT&T Field. After three innings of much-ado-about-nothing in the scoring runs department, the BayBears broke the ice in the fourth inning. A.J. Pollock led off the fourth with a solo shot. Paul Goldschmidt followed with a double. After a Marc Krauss walk and Ed Easley single to load the bases, Jacob Elmore hit a sacrifice fly to put the score at 2-0. The Lookouts retaliated with five runs in the fifth inning. Gorman Erickson led off with a homer to begin the rally. Ivan Ochoa followed with a walk and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Lookouts starting pitcher Will Savage. Alfredo Silverio then gave the Lookouts the lead by blasting a Wes Roemer (6-5) offering over the fence to give the Lookouts the lead. Jaime Pedroza then reached first by means of a hit by pitch. Hector Gimenez then hit a fly out, but Scott Van Slyke continued the rally by drawing a walk. Kyle Russell came through with a single to right field, which scored Pedroza; however, an errant throw by Adam Eaton allowed Van Slyke to scamper home on the play. The Lookouts bullpen did its job, and Josh Wall shut down the BayBears in the ninth to earn his first save of the season. Savage (10-3) took the Southern League lead in the wins category with his performance. In 6.1 innings, he yielded two runs on five hits and two walks, while striking out four. The Chattanooga Lookouts and Mobile BayBears will continue their five-game series at 2:15 P.M., tomorrow. Tickets for this game or any other Lookouts home game can be purchased at the Lookouts Box Office at AT&T Field, online at www.lookouts.com, or by calling (423) 267-4849.
