Montgomery Biscuits News Release

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Jason Pridie doubled in a run for the Montgomery Biscuits in the second inning at BellSouth Park Friday night, but the Chattanooga Lookouts dominated the rest of the game, winning the series opener, 5-1.

Pridie collected three of the Biscuits' four hits, adding a single in the fourth and a triple in the ninth.

Chattanooga hit two, two-run home runs off of Biscuits starter Andy Sonnanstine. First baseman Joey Votto hit a towering blast in the third inning to turn Montgomery's 1-0 lead around. Anderson Machado's bomb in the fourth was icing on the cake.

Machado tripled in the sixth inning to cap the scoring against Sonnanstine. He allowed six hits and five runs in his six innings. He walked three and struck out seven.

Lookouts starter Josh Hall allowed only three hits in 5 2/3 innings, departing with a 4-1 lead. He walked four and struck out seven. His departure led to an unusual moment, as Lookouts manager Jayhawk Owens called for left-handed reliever Jon Coutlangus. Coutlangus threw his warmup pitches, but he could not pitch because Owens had inadvertantly left him off of his lineup card.

Owens gave the ball instead to righty Brock Till, who pitched 2 1/3 perfect innings before handing the ball to closer David Shafer in the ninth. The league's saves leader threw a scoreless ninth in a non-save situation.

Montgomery righthander Josh Kranawetter pitched two scoreless innings after Sonnanstine's departure.

The Biscuits have lost seven of their last eight ballgames.

The second game of this 10-game roadtrip is Saturday night at 6:15 Central time. Tony Peguero will start for Montgomery.
