(Bridgewater, N.J., Aug. 19, 2015) - The Long Island Ducks defeated the Somerset Patriots 1-0 in 13 innings on Wednesday night in the third game of a four-game series at TD Bank Ballpark.

Both starters pitched brilliantly in the game, but neither factored into the decision. Ducks starter Bobby Blevins tossed eight innings of shutout baseball, allowing just three hits while striking out four. Patriots starter Matt Zielinski lasted seven innings, giving up six hits and one walk with five strikeouts.

Neither side was able to push across a run until the top half of the 13th inning. With one out, Delta Cleary, Jr., Dan Lyons and Sean Burroughs picked up consecutive singles. That set the stage for Cody Puckett, who lifted a sacrifice fly to center field and scored Cleary, Jr. with the game-winning run.

Billy Buckner (8-3) collected the victory with a scoreless 12th inning, working out of a first-and-second, one-out jam. Zach Clark (2-6) suffered the loss, yielding a run on three hits in his one inning of relief. Amalio Diaz earned his 10th save of the year with a perfect 13th inning. Long Island's bullpen combined to throw five scoreless innings in the win, allowing just two hits and two walks while striking out four.

Cleary, Jr. and Mike Blanke led the Flock with three hits apiece, while Burroughs chipped in with two.

Long Island and Somerset wrap up their four-game set on Thursday night. Game time is slated for 7:05 p.m. from T.D. Bank Ballpark. Right-hander Bruce Kern gets the ball for the Ducks against Patriots righty Lucas Irvine. Fans can follow all of the action live on the Ducks' official YouTube channel. Streaming audio will be available online.

The Ducks will return home on Friday, August 21 to begin a three-game homestand with the Camden Riversharks. First pitch for the opener is scheduled for 6:35, with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 5:35 (5:20 for full season ticket holders). It will be a Fowl Pole Friday at the Duck Pond! If a select Ducks player hits a home run off of either foul pole during the game, one lucky Ducks fan will win $50,000. The Ducks will be running their Friday night Pizza Hut K-Man and Air Trampoline Sports Friday promotions as well. Tickets to the game and all Ducks home games are available by visiting the Bethpage Ballpark box office, calling (631) 940-TIXX.
