
Long Island Nets Acquire Justin Anderson in Trade with Raptors 905

LONG ISLAND - The Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, have acquired guard/forward Justin Anderson from the Raptors 905 in exchange for forward/center Henry Ellenson. The trade is subject to each player passing a physical. In a corresponding move, the Nets have requested waivers on guard Ash Yacoubou.
Anderson (6'5", 231) appeared in 15 games (all starts) for the Raptors 905 this season, recording averages of 20.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.2 steals in 33.6 minutes per game. On Jan. 6, Anderson signed a 10-day contract with the Brooklyn Nets and appeared in three games for Brooklyn. Over four NBA seasons with Dallas (2015-17), Philadelphia (2017-18), Atlanta (2018-19) and Brooklyn (2019-20), Anderson has appeared in 219 NBA games and holds career averages of 5.3 points and 2.5 rebounds in 13.1 minutes per game. He also appeared in seven games (all starts) for the Texas Legends of the NBA G League during the 2015-16 season, where he averaged 23.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 38.3 minutes per game.
The Montross, Va., native was originally selected by Dallas with the 21st pick in the first round of the 2015 NBA Draft following a three-year (2012-15) collegiate career at the University of Virginia. While playing for the Cavaliers, Anderson earned National Basketball Coaches Association All-America Third Team honors and was named to the All-ACC Second Team as a junior. He was also named the ACC Sixth Man of the Year by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association as a sophomore.
Ellenson appeared in 10 games (six starts) for Long Island this season, averaging 20.1 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.2 blocks in 31.5 minutes per contest. He was originally signed to a two-way contract with the Brooklyn Nets on July 17, 2019, and was waived by Brooklyn on Jan. 3, 2020.
Yacoubou appeared in 20 games (10 starts) for Long Island this season, averaging 7.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 20.8 minutes per game. He was originally acquired by Long Island as a local tryout player.
