Long Island Ducks News Release
(Central Islip, N.Y., July 20, 2007) - The Long Island Ducks made national headlines once again this week when the latest edition of USA Today Sports Weekly hit news stands all across the country.
"We are proud to be featured in this prestigious publication," says team GM Mike Pfaff. "The coverage we have received this season has been as good, or better, than any year in the eight-year history of the team. The popularity of the Long Island Ducks continues to grow."
One of the most widely-read and distributed sports publications in the nation, USA Today Sports Weekly features Ducks Carl Everett and P.J. Rose on its cover this week. A two-page article, written by Paul White, explores the success of the Ducks and the Atlantic League through its acquisition of several former big leaguers and penchant for returning many of those players to Major League Baseball, as well as the unique brand of family entertainment that has helped the league thrive in Central Islip and elsewhere.
The Long Island Ducks play their home games at Citibank Park and are in their eighth season of play in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. For further information, visit www.liducks.com, or call (631) 940-3825.
