Long Ball Beats the Lemurs

Grand Prairie, TX - The Grand Prairie AirHogs hit three homeruns in the first three innings to lead them to a 8-3 victory over the Laredo Lemurs Tuesday night at QuikTrip Park in Grand Prairie, Texas.

The Lemurs opened the night with a leadoff triple by Jon Gaston, which was followed up by a RBI ground out by Brian Peterson to give the Lemurs an early 1-0 lead.

The Lemurs lead wouldn't hold for long though, as the Airhogs leadoff man Keanon Simon hit one of the three homeruns in the bottom of the first to tie the game at one a piece.

In the second inning Frazier Hall would hit a two run homerun to give the AirHogs a 3-1 lead. Then Brandon Pinckney would go deep in the third to make a 4-2 game. John Allen homered for the Lemurs in the top of the third for the Lemurs second run.

AirHogs starter Jorge Lugo made his first start for Grand Prairie going six complete, giving up three runs, on five hits, with three walks, and two strikeouts, to earn his first win of the season.

Leonard Giammanco worked through four and a third, giving up six runs, on seven hits, with one walk, and two strikeouts. The loss moves Giammanco to 1-2 on the season.

The Laredo Lemurs will be home to take on the El Paso Diablos this Thursday to kick off a seven game home stand. Thursday nights at Uni-Trade Stadium are Thirsty Thursdays brought to you my Miller Lite.
