Lock Monsters Recall Johnston and Murphy, Verdule Suspended

Lowell, MA - The Lowell Lock Monsters announced today that they have recalled forwards Ryan Murphy and Marty Johnston from the Florida Everblades (ECHL). They are expected to be in the lineup when the Lock Monsters take on the Falcons in Springfield this evening.
Johnston (5'8', 180 lbs) appeared in three games with the Lock Monsters this season, tallying no points and registering 2 PIM. He currently leads the Everblades with 54 points (21g, 33a) through 47 games.
Murphy (6'1", 205 lbs) appeared in five games with the Lock Monsters this season. He has played in 43 games with Florida, registering 32 points (21g, 11a).
In related news, defenseman Jimmy Verdule was suspended by the ECHL for tonight's game in Columbus because he accumulated two prior fisticuff related game misconducts and per league rules that calls for an automatic one game suspension.
The Everblades offer two for Tuesday's at every Tuesday Everblades home game at TECO Arena. Fans receive 2 hot dogs 2 beverages and 2 tickets for $22. Fans are also invited to enjoy $2 hot dogs and $2 beers all night long. The Blades have four more Tuesday home games including February 18th, 25th and March 18th and 25th.
Friday, February 21st is Mardi Gras night sponsored by Sam Galloway Ford. During the first intermission of the Everblades/Cottonmouths game at TECO Arena there will be a Mardi Gras parade on the ice. Mardi Gras beads provided by the Everblades will be tossed into the crowd during the parade. The fan wearing the best costume that night (voted by the crowd) will receive two round trip tickets on Spirit Airlines to any destination in the continental Untied States Spirit flies. The first 3,000 fans through the doors on Friday night will receive a free sample of coffee courtesy of Dunkin Donuts.
The Blades travel to Columbus to take on the Cottonmouths this Friday and Saturday night. The puck drops at 7:05 PM for both contests.
