Boardwalk Bullies Need Shootout to Beat Express, Win Regular Season Series

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – Love is never in the air when Northeast Division rival Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies face off against the Roanoke Express. The Valentine's Day matchup was no different. The Bullies managed to defeat the Express by a final of 4-3 in a shootout and won the regular season series, 5-4-0 in nine games against Roanoke.

Captain Stefan Rivard scored 38 seconds into the second period to put the Bullies up 3-1. But Roanoke answered with a goal by Frank Novock and a power-play tally by Cam Bristow.

Rivard finished the game with two points (1G, 1A), and tallied the game-winning goal in the shootout. Jade Galbraith and Luke Curtin each contributed a goal and an assist, and each also made his attempt in the shootout.

Jim Henkel extended his league-leading season high point-scoring streak to 20 games with an assist on Galbraith's first period tally.

Netminder Matt Yeats recorded his fifth straight win and turned aside 24 Express shots.
