Llanos Leads Explorers Back into Win Column

Sioux City..Alex Llanos had three hits, including a solo home run, drove in two runs as the Explorers snapped a three-game losing streak with a win over El Paso 7-3 Wednesday at Lewis and Clark Park.

Llanos hit his home run in the first inning to tie the game at 1-1 and later singled to drive in the second Explorer run in the third inning. Justin Nelson also had a solo home run for the X's. That came in the seventh inning and it was his 8th of the season.

It was a game where the Explorers had 12 hits with all but one starter getting at least one hit.

Veteran right hander Ryan Harris pitched eight inning for the Explorers to pick up his second win of the season.

With the win, the Explorers were able to salvage one game from El Paso in the three-game series. The Explorers will have Thursday off before heading to Sioux Falls to start a four-game series with a doubleheader Friday starting at 5:05.
