Sioux City Explorers News Release
Sioux City.....A solo home run by Juan Camacho in the 12th inning gave El Paso a 4-3 victory over the Explorers Tuesday at Lewis and Clark Park. It was the third straight one-run loss for the Explorers, all three by scores of 4-3. The Explorers have now lost 19 one-run games this season and now have dropped to 9-21 in the second half.
El Paso took a 1-0 lead in the third inning on a home run by Eddy Rodriguez, his 5th of the season. That lead remained 1-0 until Greg Stevens doubled with the bases loaded in the seventh inning to give the Explorers the 3-1 lead. The Diablos scored a run in the eighth inning and tied the game in the ninth 3-3 on a two-out bases loaded bunt single by Jorge Alvarez. That sent the game into extra innings where Camacho's home run won it in the 12th. It was the longest game of the season for the Explorers, 12 innings and the longest time-wise three hours and 50 minutes.
The final game of the three-game series with El Paso will be Wednesday at 7:05 at Lewis and Clark Park.
