
Lincoln Suffers Third Straight Loss

LINCOLN, NE - The Lincoln Saltdogs dropped their thirityd straight game at home on Thursday, losing 9-4 to Sioux City. Lincoln falls to 38-32, 9-13 in the second half.
Saltdogs starter Jim Paduch (6-5) struggled with his control all night, walking six in his five innings of work. Sioux City brought home the first of those free passes with a run in the second inning, and then added two runs in the third on two hits, two walks and a balk.
The Explorers broke the game open with five runs in the top of the sixth, four of which were unearned. Lincoln committed three errors in the frame, and manager Marty Scott was ejected during the inning for just the second time all season. Sioux City scored their final run of the night in the top of the seventh.
Lincoln finally got on the scoreboard with four runs in the bottom of the seventh. Albenis Machado hit an RBI single, Brandon Jones added a sacrifice fly and Gavin Dickey capped the frame with a two-run home run, his 13th of the season. Dickey finished the night 2-for-4 with two RBI, with Argelis Nunez and Juan Camacho also posting two-hit nights for Lincoln.
The two teams play game three of their four-game series Friday night at 7:05pm. Right-hander Chris Cullen will take the mound for the Saltdogs.
