LHP Aaron Laffey Joins Aeros

The Aeros made a couple of roster moves today as LHP Aaron Laffey was received on MLB rehab assignment and OF Jerad Head was received from Class AAA Columbus.

Laffey has pitched in 25 games with the Tribe this year with a 4.62 ERA with 28 runs (26 earned) on 57 hits. The Cumberland, Md. Native has 27 strikeouts against 28 walks over 50.2 innings of work. In his rehab appearances with Columbus and Lake County, Laffey has a combined ERA of 4.03 in six games with 10 runs on 23 hits with 12 strikeouts and 15 walks over 22.1 innings.

Head was received by Akron on Tuesday and played with the Aeros on their three-day trip to Reading. The Topeka, Kan. native had a fantastic series going 6-11 with three home runs, six RBI, and five runs scored. He added another home run in the July 25th continuation game won by Akron on Tuesday. Head was transferred to Columbus on Friday before being received again today. In 18 games with the Clippers, Head has a .270 batting average with 17 hits, two home runs, 12 RBI, four walks and 19 strikeouts.

The Aeros roster goes back to the full 24 men plus two. Anthony Reyes is with the team on a rehab assignment but is not listed on the roster. Laffey will wear No. 29 and Head will wear No. 11.
