Brewer Delivers Once More in Thunder Win

Portland, ME - Dan Brewer drove in three runs and Austin Romine smacked a two-run homerun to provided Trenton with a 5-2 win over Portland on Saturday night. Trenton (76-50) cruised through the final six innings with RHP Hector Noesi backing up the rehab start from Alfredo Aceves.

Brewer drove in a run in the first inning and Romine smacked his eighth homerun of the season for a 3-0 Trenton lead. Brewer extended the lead to 5-2 with a two-run single in the fifth.

Aceves made his third rehab start for Trenton and went 2 1/3 innings with one run on three hits. Ryan Khoury homered in the second inning and Luis Exposito doubled off Josh Schmidt in the third to pull to with in one run.

The Thunder pulled away in the fifth with the Brewer two-run base hit. Brewer has collected 16 RBI in the past 11 games and leads the team with 72 on the year.

Hector Noesi (8-4) entered in the fourth inning and sailed through the final six frames. Noesi struck out six and allowed no runs on four hits to win his second consecutive outing.

RHP Stephen Fife (6-6) was hit with the loss in five innings pitched for the Sea Dogs. Fife allowed five runs on six hits with two walks in his fourth start of the season against the Thunder.

The series wraps up on Sunday at 1:00 pm. RHP Andrew Brackman will start for Trenton against RHP Alex Wilson for Portland. All the action can be heard live at www.trentonthunder.com.
