(GREENSBORO, NC) - Lexington's ball club put up five runs in the backstretch for a 5-1 victory over Greensboro Saturday night. The Legends have now won two in a row and escaped last place in the South Atlantic League's northern division standings. The Legends are now 24-43 and clinched with at least seventh place in the second half while the Hickory Crawdads are left with eighth place this season at 21-46.

The Legends didn't score until the sixth inning, but the team put five runs on the board late to secure the win. Greensboro's starter Bryan Evans (2-5) held the Lexington at bay for five innings before giving up a pair in the sixth after three straight singles. The Legends teed off on the Grasshopper relievers for five hits and three runs over the last three innings.

The top of the Legends lineup featured three multi-hitters on the night. Leadoff man Craig Corrado went 2-for-5 with a double while Eric Taylor finished 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Lexington's opening day starter Leandro Cespedes (4-6) went six innings strong in his last outing of the season for the win. Cespedes scattered five hits along with his six strikeouts, good for only one earned run in the Saturday night win.
