Evansville Otters News Release
EVANSVILLE, IN â The Evansville Otters swept the Florence Freedom and won their fourth game in a row, topping the Florence Freedom by a score of 4-1.
Jeremy Lewis picked up his third win of the season against no losses, going seven innings allowing five hits, one run, walking one and striking out six. A.J. Ampi threw one pitch, getting Matt Singer to ground to shortstop to pick up his first save of the season.
Cole Hilt led the Otters offensively, going 2-for-2, raising his average to .600 against the Freedom this season.
The Otters scored all they would need in the first. A bases loaded walk to Terrence McClain and a hit batsman against Carlos Brackley would give Evansville a 2-0 lead.
In the game, Steve Martin and Brackley extended hitting streaks, Martin to nine and Brackley to seven.
Grant Williams takes the mound tomorrow for Evansville as they travel to Richmond to take on the Roosters. Game time starts at 6:35 p.m.
