Leveille Records 300th Career Point in 6-5 Win

(Odessa, TX) - Dominic Leveille scored a pair of goals and recorded the 300th point of his career as the Odessa Jackalopes held on for a 6-5 win over the Arizona Sundogs at the Ector County Coliseum on Saturday night.

Konrad Reeder scored a pair of third period goals for the Sundogs to record a hat trick in the game, but Juha Toivonen made several key saves down the stretch hold the lead for Odessa, who's record improves to 22-4-3 on the season.

Both teams combined for five goals in the first period. Odessa jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a power play goal by Kory Karlander at 4:10 and an even strength goal from Brian Swiniarski at 5:48. The Sundogs countered with three unanswered goals of their own starting with Konrad Reeder's power play goal at 8:14. Jon Landry tied the game on an odd-man rush at 10:19. Then Torren Delforte made it 3-2 Arizona at 11:57. The Jackalopes trailed entering the intermission.

The Jackalopes took control in the second period with four unanswered goals of their own including a pair from Dominic Leveille. Leveille's first came at 1:11 on a backhand shot from the right circle, then again at 4:40 to make it 4-3 favoring Odessa. Phil Plante made it 5-3 on the power play from a crossing pass in the left circle at 12:59. Kenny Bernard then gave the Jacks a 6-3 lead at the second break.

The Jackalopes and Sundogs wrap up their weekend series on Sunday at 4:05 PM at the Ector County Coliseum. The action can be heard on 102.1 Jack FM.
