
Bucks Sign Tebbs, Sibbald Sent Down

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League announced Saturday that they have signed goaltender Kris Tebbs for the 2009-10 season. The Bucks also announced that they have sent Mark Sibbald back to the SPHL's Huntsville Havoc. Tebbs will be in uniform Saturday when the Bucks host Corpus Christi.
The 28-year-old Tebbs is suiting up for his third CHL team this season after having played previously for Corpus Christi and Allen. Tebbs was released by the Americans on December 15th.
"With J.P Levasseur still up in the American League I need another proven goaltender here and Tebbs is it," said Bucks President/General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski. "We've seen what he can do and we hope he can bring that same level of play here."
Tebbs, a native of Calgary, Alberta, played in just seven games for Corpus this season as he posted a 2-2-2 record, to go along with a 3.69 G.A.A and a.892 sv. %. Tebbs appeared in just one game for Allen stopping 11 of 20 shots he faced.
Last season with the Ice Rays Tebbs played in a career-high 51 games which also paced all CHL netminders. He also led the league in saves with 1406, and finished second in minutes played. His 24 wins ranked fourth in the CHL. Tebbs went 24-20-5 last season, with a 3.00 GAA and a.908 save percentage to lead the Ice Rays to the playoffs.
Tebbs, 5'10'', 170 pounds, was a workhorse down the stretch last season, as he started the final 19 games and 30 of the last 31. Tebbs went 15-10-2 with a 2.54 GAA and.916 save percentage during that span. Tebbs took home CHL Goaltender of the Month honors in March of last season.
Tebbs is in his sixth professional season which has seen him play in three different leagues for now eight different teams. Prior to turning pro, Tebbs played his college hockey at University of Nebraska - Omaha.
**SIBBALD SENT BACK TO HUNTSVILLE**
Mark Sibbald was sent back to Huntsville (SPHL) Saturday after appearing in one game for the Bucks during his call-up. Sibbald entered the Bucks 6-3 loss to Amarillo on December 19th in the second period and went on to stop 13 of 14 shots he faced.
