Let There Be Ice!! Save Mart Center Playing Surface Readied Tonight & Tomorrow

Fresno, Calif. - While National Hockey League arenas remain dark across North America, the Save Mart Center arena crew and Fresno Falcons staff are busy installing ice and painting lines, circles and ice logos in preparation for the Falcons' upcoming 2004-2005 season.

The first layers of ice were applied today, and the Save Mart Center arena crew is currently painting the regulation lines, circles and goal creases until approximately 7 p.m. this evening.

The Falcons staff takes over tomorrow, when they will paint the giant center ice Falcons logo and sponsor logos beginning at 10 a.m. and continuing throughout most of the day.

Fresno begins training camp with its first on-ice session at Save Mart Center on Saturday, Oct. 9, at 3 p.m. The club will battle the Bakersfield Condors in a pre-season game on Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. at Save Mart Center before officially opening their second season in the ECHL when they host the Las Vegas Wranglers on Oct. 22 at Save Mart Center at 7 p.m.

Falcons single-game tickets are now on sale for the Oct. 15 pre-season game ($5 general admission all seats) as well as all 36 regular season home games, which begin as low as $8 per seat. Tickets may be purchased directly at Save Mart Center's box office and all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 485-TIXS (8497) or online at www.ticketmaster.com.
