Les Lancaster Added to Legends Lineup

NORMAL, Illinois - The CornBelters announced the addition of Les Lancaster to the 3rd Annual Legends Game lineup at The Corn Crib, presented by Illinois Corn Growers.

The 2018 edition of the Legends Game, presented by the Town of Normal, will be held on Saturday, August 4th. Gates and parking will open at 5:00 p.m. CT. with the first pitch at approximately 7:00 p.m.

Les, originally from Dallas, Texas, payed in Major League Baseball from 1987-1993 and went on to manage in the minor leagues.

He made his MLB debut in 1987 with the Chicago Cubs where he spent the majority of his career (1987-1991). In 1989, Lancaster helped the Cubs to a 1989 National League East division title with fellow reliever Mitch "Wild Thing" Williams.

Les went on to spend the 1992 season with the Detroy Tigers and then his final season (1993) with the St. Louis Cardinals where he made his last appearance on October 3, 1993.

Over the course of his career, Lancaster went 41-28 with a 4.05 ERA and struck out 408 batters.

LEGENDS ROSTER UPDATE

Les has stepped in to the lineup to replace Fernando Tatis. Due to unanticipated circumstances, Fernando is unable to make his schedule trip to Normal, IL to participate in the CornBelters third annual Legends Game on Saturday. Tatis was looking forward to visiting with the fans and entertaining them alongside his fellow Major League Baseball alumni, but ultimately he was not able to make the trip from his home in the Dominican Republic.
