AMARILLO, TX - The Amarillo Sox had an errorless Saturday night and turned four double plays defensively, while Fehlandt Lentini hit a grand slam to propel the Sox over the Shreveport-Bossier Captains 6-3 in front of 3,482 fans at the Amarillo National Bank Sox Stadium.

Sox starter Corey Bass (2-2) got the win, allowing just three runs and seven hits in five innings, allowing just one walk and three strikeouts. Captains starter Joel Kirsten (3-3) got the loss, allowing all six of the Sox runs off nine hits. Amarillo reliever Pat Overholt got his first save of the season, pitching a scoreless ninth inning.

Amarillo took the lead in a big way in the bottom of the second. Van Pope led off with a walk, went to second on a Tim Alberts single, while Adam De La Garza walked to load the bases. Lentini followed and drove a 2-0 pitch over the left field wall for a grand slam and gave the Sox a two-run lead.

The Sox extended the lead in the third inning as Pope hit into a double play, but scored Cyle Hankerd from third for a 5-2 Amarillo lead.

Shreveport-Bossier added a run in the fifth inning as Brian Peterson hit an RBI double, but Amarillo responded with an RBI double from Alberts in the bottom half of the inning for a 6-3 Sox advantage.

Overholt came in for the ninth, allowed a hit and a walk, but struck out Marquez and got a game-ending double play from Urtuzuastegui to end the game with Amarillo victorious 6-3.
