
Lemurs Lose First Game at Home

LAREDO, TX - The Kansas City T-Bones designated hitter Matt Padgett goes three for five with a homerun, two doubles, and six RBI's as he leads his team to a 9-6 victory over the Laredo Lemurs Friday night at Uni-Trade Stadium in Laredo, Texas.
The T-Bones got on the board in the first inning against Lemurs starting pitcher Leoanard Giammanco, as Kennard Jones opened up the first with a single and then promptly stole second. Justin Bass would single to drive in Jones and give the T-Bones a 1-0 lead. Then with one out Matt Padgett hit a two run homerun over right field wall to give Kansas City a 3-0 lead after a half inning.
Leonard Giammaco would settle down over the next three innings but he would be hit for two unearned runs in the fifth. On the day Giammanco threw five complete, giving up five runs, on seven hits, with a one walk, and one strikeout. The loss moves Giammanco to 1-1 on the season.
T-Bones starter Brian Murphy gets his first win of the season and moves his record to 1-2. On the day Murphy pitched five complete, giving up four runs, on 10 hits, with three walks, and two strikeouts.
The Lemurs big hitters include Sawyer Carroll who went two for four, with two doubles, a run scored, and a RBI. Jon Gaston went three for four, with two doubles, two runs scored, and a RBI.
After a 35 minute delay due to the lights going out at the ballpark the Lemurs loaded the bases twice and brought the tying run to the plate twice but could not get the runs across to extend the game.
All game times at home will be at 7:30pm with the exception of Wednesday, May 22nd at 10:00am and the game on Sunday, June 2nd which will start at 3:16pm.
