Kody Hinze homered, doubled and singled and batted in four runs as the Lexington Legends completed a four-game sweep of the Asheville Tourists with a 5-1 victory Friday night at Applebee's Park.

Right-hander Tanner Bushue (1-0) earned his first victory as a Legend. Bushue worked the first six innings, allowing four hits and one run. He struck out five batters and walked one.

After Asheville scored a run in the first on a single by Eliezer Mesa, a stolen base, a throwing error and a double by Avery Barnes, the Legends came back to tie the game in the second inning. A two-out double by Grant Hogue scored Hinze, who had walked.

The Legends took the lead for good in the third inning on doubles by J.D. Martinez and Hinze. They added a run in the fifth when Jiovanni Mier walked, went to second on a wild pitch and to third on an infield out before scoring on Hinze's single.

Hinze's homer to left field in the eighth followed a single by Jake Goebbert and closed out the scoring. Zach Grimmett, who joined the Legends earlier in the day, earned a save by pitching the final three innings. He allowed one hit and no runs while striking out five batters and walking one.

Earlier in the day, the Legends announced that right-handed pitcher Nathan Pettus had been placed on the disabled list with a right shoulder strain. Pitcher Brandt Walker was placed on the inactive list. Grimmett, a right-hander, and lefty Mike Modica joined the club.

The Legends begin an eight-game road trip Saturday night in Greenville, South Carolina. First pitch is set for 7 p.m.
