Charleston, WV - A two-out, two-run error proved extremely costly Friday night as the Drive (9-7) failed to complete the four-game sweep over the West Virginia Power (6-9) before returning home to Fluor Field.

With Greenville leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third with two outs and no runners aboard, starting pitcher Yeiper Castillo issued back-to-back walks to Benji Gonzalez and Evan Chambers. Those walks setup a two-base error on right-fielder Wilfredo Pichardo to give West Virginia a lead they wouldn't relinquish.

The Power added single runs in the fourth, fifth, and seventh innings for insurance purposes, but the Drive were never able to recover from the error. Greenville used three hits to strike for the game's first run in the top of the second. Ronald Bermudez led off with a single, and moved to third on Dan Butler's double before Zach Gentile delivered an RBI-single.

While both starting pitchers lasted just four innings, Castillo (1-1) endured the loss for Greenville as Phillip Irwin earned a no-decision for West Virginia. The Power's second pitcher, Melkin Laureano (1-1), picked up the win with three scoreless frames out of the bullpen. Ryan Kelly added a pair of shutout innings to seal the victory.

The Drive used four pitchers - Castillo, Jordan Flasher, Cesar Cabral, and Dennis Neuman - with Neuman being the only one to not allow a run, as he tossed a scoreless ninth inning.

After finishing their road trip with an 8-3 record, the Drive return home to Fluor Field on Saturday to begin a four-game series with the Lexington Legends. Right-hander Kendal Volz (2-0, 2.08 ERA) will toe the slab for Greenville, as Lexington counters with right-hander Juan Minaya (0-2, 6.35 ERA)

Reggy "The Purple Party Dude" will make his first of two appearances at Fluor Field tomorrow, entertaining the crowd with his crazy antics. For more information regarding single-game tickets, group outings, and luxury accommodations, visit www.GreenvilleDrive.com or call (864) 240-4500.
