Braves Lose Heartbreaker in 10th

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves fell to the Kannapolis Intimidators in ten innings Friday night 3-2 in front of 4,280 fans at State Mutual Stadium. Rome has dropped its third consecutive series falling three games to one and now 7-9 overall.

The Braves scored first, taking the 1-0 lead in the third inning on an RBI ground out by Kyle Rose.

The Intimidators answered with a run of their own in the fourth on an Ian Gac home run to center field. Kannapolis then took the lead 2-1 in the top of the fifth inning on a home run from Juan Silverio.

Rome bounced back to tie the game 2-2 in the eighth on a Jordan Kreke RBI single to left scoring L.V. Ware.

Kannapolis took the lead for good in the tenth inning when Jordan Cheatham scored on an Ian Gac single for the 3-2 final.

Drew O'Neil (1-0) earns the win for Kannapolis while Julio Surinach (0-1) picks up his first loss of the season for Rome. Jimmy Ballinger gets his first save for the Intimidators.
