Texas Legends News Release
FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends, presented by Veracruz (visit Veracruz.mx), hosted the Tulsa 66ers in their fifth matchup of the season. The Legends led the series three games to one coming in, but Tulsa had revenge on the mind after suffering a heartbreaking loss to the Legends on their home court a week ago. The 66ers broke a six-game streak by the Legends, taking the 114-89 victory
The 66ers set the tone from tipoff with a dunk by Dominic McGuire after only 5 seconds ticked off the clock. Shooting 52% to the Legends' 34%, Tulsa took the lead and never let it go. After being down by 15 in the first, Texas came within three and headed into the half at only a five-point deficit. Tulsa found their shot again in the third, running up a 28-point advantage that would prove too much for the Legends to overcome.
Booker Woodfox came off the bench to lead the Legends with 15 points. Damion James posted the team's only double-double scoring 13 and grabbing 12 boards. Dominic McGuire powered the 66ers with 18 points and 20 rebounds, but Reggie Williams was the game's leading scorer with 20 points and 8 assists.
The Legends will return to the court Wednesday night hosting the Bakersfield Jam at 7pm. The game will be broadcast live on television - KTXD 47 - and radio - KVCE 1160am. For more information on the team or the full season schedule call 214-469-0822 or visit www.TexLegends.com.
