Legends Homestand: Janson Concert, Noodleman, Super Why, Fireworks and More

(WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK, Lexington, Ky.) A post-game concert by country music star Chris Janson, visits from Myron Noodleman and public television's Super Why, along with Latin Heritage Night, two Ford Fireworks shows and Big L's birthday celebration are among the highlights of the Lexington Legends' seven-game homestand that opens Monday night.

"This homestand has a variety of promotions and should be a lot of fun," said Legends President/CEO Andy Shea. "Having Chris Janson here for a post-game concert Thursday night is incredible. From Myron Noodleman to Thirsty Thursday to our Kids Club and Latin Heritage Night on Sunday, fans of all ages will have a great time at the ballpark. We're looking forward to it."

The Legends, class A affiliate of the American League champion Kansas City Royals, will take on the Augusta GreenJackets, an affiliate of the World Series champion San Francisco Giants, in a three-game series beginning Monday night. The Greenville Drive, an affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, will be in for a four-game series opening Thursday night.

The schedule:

Monday, August 3: Legends vs. Augusta, 7:05 p.m. Monday is Kids Eat Free night, and kids age 12 and under will receive a voucher for a free meal and drink as they enter the ballpark. The Legends' Big L will celebrate his birthday, and he has invited several of his mascot friends to Whitaker Bank Ballpark for the occasion. Among those who have accepted are mascots from Keeneland, Asbury University, Eastern Kentucky University, Zaxby's, bd's Mongolian Grill and the Florence Freedom.

Tuesday, August 4: Legends vs. Augusta, 7:05 p.m. Hot dogs are just 38 cents each on Tuesday nights in recognition of the Ford F-150 being the best-selling truck for the last 38 years.

Wednesday, August 5: Legends vs. Augusta, 7:05 p.m. The Legends wrap up the three-game set with the GreenJackets.

Thursday, August 6: Legends vs. Greenville, 7:05 p.m. It's a Kentucky Ale Thirsty Thursday, and beer and Pepsi products will sell for one dollar each. Following the game, singer/songwriter Chris Janson, whose hit "Buy Me a Boat" went to number one on iTunes country music chart earlier this year, will perform on the VIP deck in right field. A ticket to the game is required for admission to the concert. There is no other charge for admission.

Friday, August 7: Legends vs. Greenville, 7:05 p.m. The Legends are teaming up with Kentucky Educational Television for a KET Family Fun Event with a special appearance by the main character of the popular children's program Super Why, which presents adventure stories to encourage children to read.

A Ford Fireworks show will follow the game.

Saturday, August 8: Legends vs. Greenville, 7:05 p.m. Myron Noodleman, known as the "hippest nerd in da biz," will entertain with dancing and skits between innings, sometimes involving players and coaches. A Ford Fireworks show will follow the game.

Sunday, August 9: Legends vs. Greenville, 6:05 p.m. The homestand concludes with Latin Heritage Night and JIF Kids Club Sunday. Kids Club members receive free admission to Sunday home games, and all kids may run the bases after the game. Membership in the Kids Club is free.
