Charleston, WV - In the first meeting of the season between the Greenville Drive and West Virginia Power, the Power had the upper hand, using a four-run fifth inning to defeat the Drive 5-1 on Monday night.

With the score tied at one, the Power (26-11, 62-43) got to Luis Ramos (0-1), who was making his Drive (17-20, 55-52) debut on the mound and knocked him out of the game. With one out in the inning, Pablo Reyes lined a two-run single to center to give West Virginia the lead. An RBI single by Jerrick Suiter tacked on the third run of the frame, and a Drive error added another run.

The big inning made a winner out of West Virginia's Austin Coley (13-5), who extended his South Atlantic League-leading win total after allowing just one run over seven innings. Jared Lakind followed with two scoreless frames to finish the game.

Coley and Ramos traded zeroes until the bottom of the fourth when Jordan Luplow began the inning with a double and came in on a double by Suiter.

The Drive scored their only run of the game in the fifth. Joseph Monge reached on a single with two outs, stole second, and was plated on a Deiner Lopez RBI single.

Lopez went 2-3 at the plate for the Drive. Suiter had two hits and two RBI for West Virginia, while Luplow, Tyler Filliben and Tito Polo added two hits each.

Game two of the three-game series is set for 7:05 PM on Tuesday in West Virginia. The Drive will look to rebound as they send RH Ben Taylor (0-1, 2.77) to the mound, and the Power will counter with LH Stephen Tarpley (8-2, 2.26).
