Legends fall to Power

West Virginia banged out 18 hits and nine runs in route to a 9-2 win over Lexington on Monday night. The loss sends the Legends to their third straight defeat.

West Virginia scored a run in the first inning on an RBI double by Grant Richardson. The Power added three more in the fourth inning. Clay Blevins doubled in two and Freddy Parejo added an RBI single to make it 4-0.

The Legends picked up two runs in the fifth inning. Frankie Caraballo doubled in J. R. Towles. Ryan Reed scored on Bryan Triplett's grounder. The Power put the game away in the seventh inning. Garrett Murdy served up a three-run home run to Josh Brady to make it 7-2.

Alcides Escobar's double plated Freddy Parejo and scored on Grant Richardson 's single to finish the scoring.

Chad Reineke (6-7) suffered his seventh loss of the season while Steve Hammond (3-0) earned the win for West Virginia

The Loss drops the Legends into a tie with West Virginia at 15-15. The Legends and the Power remain six games back of first place Delmarva heading into Tuesday night's game.

Evan Englebrook will make the start for Lexington on Tuesday night. The Power will counter with right-hander Josh Wahpepah.

Tuesday night is five-cent hotdog night! Fans who attend the Legends game with West Virginia on Tuesday can buy regular concession stand hotdogs for just five cents. Gates open at 5:30 for the 7:05 first pitch.
