
Sam Mitchell Night to be Held at Golden Park

Columbus, GA - On Friday, August 5th, the Columbus Catfish will take on the Savannah Sand Gnats (Washington Nationals) at 7:00pm and honor former NBA star and current Toronto Raptors' head coach Sam Mitchell. The Columbus native will be at Golden Park to meet fans and sign autographs. Any fan wearing an NBA jersey that night will be admitted for just $1.
Mitchell, who played 13 seasons for the Minnesota Timberwolves and Indiana Pacers, will be in town the week of August 1st to host a youth players' clinic along with former NBA All-Star Alex English and 2005 NBA Rookie of the Year Dwight Howard at Columbus State University.
The Catfish are off today and will head out tomorrow to begin a four-game road series against the Rome Braves. The game can be heard on WDAK 540 am or by logging on to www.columbuscatfish.com. The team will return home on Thursday, August 4th at 7:00pm to take on the Savannah Sand Gnats (Washington Nationals). Gates open at 6:00pm and the Catfish will give the first 500 fans a complimentary Tommy Lasorda bobblehead doll.
