(Lakewood, NJ)--Sean Gamble's RBI double in the sixth inning Monday snapped a scoreless tie and lifted the Lakewood BlueClaws to a 3-0 win over the Captains at FirstEnergy Park.

Gamble's drive to the right field corner off Adam Hanson (0-1) came with runners on the corners and two outs in the sixth. He turned on an 0-2 pitch and pulled it into the corner to drive home Chris Klemm. Brad Harman followed with a two-run single to make it 3-0.

Four Lakewood pitchers combined on a four-hitter. Matt Sweeney (2-3) started and tossed six innings, giving up all four Captains hits. He walked one and struck out two. Sweeney, who started the year in the bullpen, snapped a personal three-game losing streak. Both of Sweeney's wins this year have come against the Captains.

Cory Dueitt, Joe Bisenius, and Jake Barrack all followed with a hitless, scoreless inning. Barrack earned his ninth save.

The Captains (13-17, 53-47) saw their three-game winning streak go by the boards. The Captains remained eight games out of first place. The BlueClaws (15-16, 40-61) won for the third straight time.

Game two of the series is Tuesday night at 7:05 (WELW AM 1330).
