Greenville, SC - A new opponent in town couldn't get the Greenville Drive offense going on Thursday night at Fluor Field, as three Lexington Legends pitchers combined to shut down the Drive 6-0 in the series opener.

The Drive (19-20) offense ran into some bad luck, as the Lexington defense making several sparkling plays on hard-hit balls, but they managed only five hits in the game. Nolan Watson (1-4) picked up the win for Lexington by allowing just three hits and two walks with four strikeouts in five innings.

The Legends (17-23) struck for single runs in the second, third and fourth innings against Greenville starter Anderson Espinoza (2-4). Amalani Fukofuka singled in the second and came home on another single by Xavier Hernandez, while Samir Duenez and Marten Gasparini collected RBI doubles over the next two frames.

Espinoza worked five innings and allowed the three runs on seven hits and one walk with four strikeouts.

A two-run double in the seventh inning by D.J. Burt extended the Lexington lead to 5-0, and Duenez added an RBI single in the ninth.

Mitchell Gunsolus was the lone Drive player with two hits in the game.

The series continues on Friday night at Fluor Field at 7:05. Right-hander Marc Brakeman (1-2, 5.84) takes the mound for the Drive, and the Legends will send left-hander Emilio Ogando to the hill.
