
Lee Named July BC S.L. Relief Pitcher of Month

BILOXI, Miss. - Former Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp left-handed relief pitcher Dylan Lee has been named the Southern League BC® Relief Pitcher of the Month for July, announced by the league office on Friday.
During the month of July for the Jumbo Shrimp, Lee had three saves and worked 10 scoreless innings, striking out 13 batters compared to one walk and three hits allowed during his nine relief outings. Overall for the Jumbo Shrimp, Lee pitched in 12 games, with no wins or losses and a 0.00 ERA (no earned runs in 15 innings) with 19 strikeouts compared to one walk and five hits allowed.
Lee was transferred to Triple-A New Orleans on July 28, and so far with the Baby Cakes has no wins or losses in one relief outing. Lee started the season with High-A Jupiter, where he was 6-2 with a 1.45 ERA in 22 relief outings, and he was honored as a 2018 Florida State League Midseason All-Star.
Overall this year, Lee is 7-2 with a 0.94 ERA in 35 relief outings with three saves and 48 strikeouts in 48 innings of work. Lee, 24, is a native of Dinuba, California, and was originally selected by the Marlins in the 10th round of the 2016 draft out of Fresno State.
While Lee is the first Jumbo Shrimp reliever to be named the BC® Relief Pitcher of the Month, Austin Dean was the league's Player of the Month for April.
The Jumbo Shrimp will continue their five-game series with the Biloxi Shuckers with the second game of the five-game set at MGM Park at 7:35 p.m. eastern on Friday night. Right-handed starting pitcher Kolton Mahoney (3-6, 4.20 ERA) will start for Jacksonville against Biloxi right-hander Trey Supak (2-6, 3.90 ERA). Fans can listen to Friday's game on the Jumbo Shrimp Network presented by Community First, beginning at 7:20 p.m. eastern with the pregame show "Shrimp On Deck" locally on Sunny 102.3 FM, on the TuneIn Radio app, and www.jaxshrimp.com.
The Jumbo Shrimp return home on Wednesday, Aug. 8, at 7:05 p.m. against the Mississippi Braves. Gates open at 6 p.m. for Publix Corks & Forks Wednesday, when fans can purchase a game ticket and the opportunity to sample food, beer, and wine from Publix in the Safe Harbor Seafood Palm Tree Pavilion for $15 at tinyurl.com/jaxshrimpportal (password "PUBLIX"). Reserved tickets may be upgraded at the Pavilion or box office. That night's featured wine will also be available in your neighborhood Publix. Anyone who donates a canned food item at the box office can save $1 off a gameday ticket (limit $1 off per ticket).
