Lawson does it again, Bears win 1-0 in shootout thriller

The BEARS win back-to-back road games for the second time this season, downing the Worcester IceCats 1-0 in Worcester.

The teams battled to a scoreless draw after twenty minutes. Tom Lawson made 16 saves in the first, while Worcester netminder Curtis Sanford stopped nine shots for the IceCats.

Both Lawson and Sanford were perfect after two when neither team scored through the second period. HERSHEY narrowed the shot differential to 23-22 after two periods by outshooting the IceCats 13-7 in the second.

The game would go to the shootout, where David Masse scored the only goal. Lawson finished his second shootout in as many games, making 35 saves.

The BEARS continue the road trip Saturday night against the Portland Pirates. Face-off at the Cumberland County Civic Center is at 7:05 p.m.
