December 3, 2004 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Houston Aeros News Release

HOUSTON, Texas – The Houston Aeros will hold their annual Teddy Bear Toss and Toy Drive on Saturday, Dec. 18 when the team takes on the Norfolk Admirals at 7:35 p.m. Fans are asked to bring in teddy bears or other new stuffed animals to throw on the ice after the Aeros score their first goal. The Aeros will also give away 3,000 Santa Bobbleheads on December 18.

In addition, the Aeros would like fans to bring new, unwrapped toys to the game and deposit them in bins at all Toyota Center entrances. All toys will be donated to the Children's Assessment Center.

The Children's Assessment Center (CAC) provides a safe haven to sexually abused children and their families—a place where they can receive the kind of care and treatment they so richly deserve. CAC employs an extraordinarily effective, multi-disciplinary team approach in the prevention, assessment, investigation, referral for prosecution and treatment of child sexual abuse. CAC's goal is to promote the complete healing of child victims of sexual abuse and their families.

The CAC is an accredited member of the National Children's Alliance, part of a national movement to create child-friendly intervention systems for sexually abused children and a member of the Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas. The CAC is also one of the largest advocacy centers of its kind in the nation.
