Bruins drop heartbreaker to Manchester

Providence, RI -- The Providence Bruins outshot the Manchester Monarchs, 43-25 at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Providence on Friday night, but dropped a tough 3-2 decision. The Bruins are now 9-9-2-2 (22 points), tying them with the Lowell Lock Monster for fourth place in the Atlantic Division.

Providence defenseman Milan Jurcina and left wing David Gove each scored his third goal of the season, with Jurcina connecting on a first period power play.

Bruin goaltender Hannu Toivonen stopped 22 of the 25 shots he faced in taking the loss. He is now 8-9-1 on the season. Toivonen stopped Manchester's Dustin Brown on a penalty shot attempt at 13:14 of the third period.

The Black and Gold travels to Manchester for a rematch on Saturday night at 7:35 p.m. The game action will be broadcast live on WDDZ AM-550 and online at www.providencebruins.com.

The Bruins return home to host the Hershey Bears on Sunday, December 5 at 4:05 p.m. Fans attending the game will receive a free Bruin Pride bumper sticker, courtesy of your local True Value stores.
