August 3, 2011 - New York-Penn League (NYPL)
Williamsport Crosscutters News Release

The Williamsport Crosscutters were edged 3-2 Wednesday afternoon in Brooklyn, as the Cyclones used a walk-off sacrifice fly to win it in the ninth inning.

Just over 12 hours after being involved in a jarring bus crash on Staten Island, the Cutters turned around Wednesday morning and took the field for the 12:15pm start.

The Cyclones notched two runs on three hits in the bottom of the second inning, with the key knock an RBI triple to right by Travis Taijeron.

The Cutters fought back with a two-out run in the fourth, as Harold Martinez's RBI single made it 2-1. Two innings later, Aaron Altherr's second home run in as many games tied the game at two apiece.

That score held until the bottom of the ninth inning, when Brooklyn's Javier Rodriguez lifted a sacrifice fly to left field to win the game 3-2.

Cutters starter Adam Morgan pitched 4.2 innings allowing two runs on five hits. Gabriel Arias took the loss in the ninth inning, dropping to 0-1 on the year.

These two teams will play one more at 7:00pm Thursday before the Cutters head to Batavia for two matchups. Every Cutters game can be heard on ESPN Radio 104.1 FM, ESPN 1050 AM, or online at crosscutters.com
