Late Inning Comeback Sinks Rippers

London Rippers News Release

SCHAUMBURG, ILLINOIS - A five run 8th inning propelled Schaumburg to a 6-3 come- from-behind win over London on Wednesday afternoon.

The Boomers batted around in the bottom of the 8th, erasing a 3-1 deficit.

Rippers' starter, Sheng-An Kuo was outstanding, allowing only one run and two hits through 7 innings.

Kuo's day ended in the 8th when he hit the first batter he saw and gave up a double to Sean Mahley.

Adam Arnold (1-2) came on to stop the threat but a 2-RBI triple by Andrew Cohn tied the game at 3-3. It was followed by a walk and a Nick Kuroczko single, putting Schaumburg in the lead 4-3.

But, the inning didn't end there. An error on second baseman, Tony Delmonico and a ground out both brought in runners for the Boomers, increasing their lead to 6-3.

The loss puts a damper on a big day by Stephen Cardullo. He went 2-for-4 with an RBI double in the 4th and an RBI single in the 6th, which put London up 3-1 at that point.

Aaron Glaum hit the first triple in Rippers' history, down the right field line, in the 3rd scoring Zach Larson and opening the scoring at 1-0.

London and Schaumburg will play the rubber game of this series tomorrow night at 6:30pm Central time.

Canadian, Jamie Richmond (1-1 6.00 ERA) throws for London against Cameron Roth (2-0 1.35 ERA).
