
Late Altoona Homer Spoils Six-Run Comeback

The Senators lost 7-6 to Altoona Thursday night at PNG Field in Altoona. Curve starter Omar Cruz retired the first 15 batters while being staked to a 6-0 lead. However, the Sens exploded in the fifth for five runs, then tallied a run in the eighth to tie the game at 6 while leaving the go ahead runs in scoring position. Altoona scored the eventual winning run in the eighth inning on a home run.
ON CAPITAL HILL
Seth Romero started and pitched into the fourth inning allowing three runs on four hits. He also struck out eight while facing 19 batters.
Malvin Pena tossed 1.1 innings and allowed two runs on two hits.
Carlos Navas appeared in his first game with the Sens going one inning and facing three batters.
Frankie Bartow pitched a scoreless seventh inning.
Jhon Romero allowed a solo home run in the last of the eighth that proved to be the game winner.
WITH THE GAVEL
Cole Freeman, Gage Canning, Gilbert Lara and Osvaldo Duarte all had two hits for the Senators. Duarte, Canning and Freeman all drove in a run.
FILIBUSTERS
With their 11 hits, the Senators pushed their team batting average to a season high .222. The Senators went 6-11 with runners in scoring position. The one-run game was the 23rd for the Senators this season and the 17th one-run loss. Harrisburg had six straight hits in the sixth inning and seven in the inning to plate five runs.
