Last week Hamilton Tiger-Cats quarterback Jeremiah Masoli suffered a knee injury which will cause him to miss the remainder of the 2019 CFL season, Tatu, one of the most iconic names in arena soccer history was named head coach of the Major Arena Soccer League's expansion Mesquite Outlaws and Erica Wheeler became the first undrafted player to win the WNBA All-Star Game MVP. Highlights from this week are from the Canadian Football League, XFL, International League, Pacific Coast League, Eastern League, Major League Soccer, Canadian Premier League, National Women's Soccer League, Women's National Basketball Association, Big3, Premier Lacrosse League and World TeamTennis.
FOOTBALL
Canadian Football League
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced that quarterback Jeremiah Masoli will miss the remainder of the 2019 Canadian Football League season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Masoli suffered the injury with five minutes remaining in the first quarter of a 23-15 win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton.
Robertson Daniel wore Joker face paint in for the Calgary Stampeders CFL game. He even got an interception.
BC Lions Ryan Lankford returns a missed field goal 118 yards for a touchdown against Saskatchewan.
XFL
Indoor Football League
The Tucson Sugar Skulls are pleased to announce that Jay Gonzales, a Tucson native and long-time local businessman, has been named President of the organization effective immediately. Gonzales will be responsible for all non-football operations including corporate sales and sponsorships, ticketing, game operations and media and community relations.
Champions Indoor Football
Champions Indoor Football announced that the Duke City Gladiators had submitted a petition for a voluntary release from their league commitment. This afternoon, the CIF of Board of Directors voted unanimously to honor Duke City's petition and release the team from the CIF effective immediately. All six remaining teams also reaffirmed their commitment to the CIF for the upcoming 2020 season.
BASEBALL
Atlantic League
Former Sugar Land Skeeters infielder Ryan Court had his contract selected by the Seattle Mariners from Triple-A Tacoma, becoming the eighth player in Skeeters history to appear on a Major League 25-man roster after appearing with the Skeeters.
International League

Canadian Premier League
Cavalry FC claimed the first win from a CPL club over MLS opposition, taking their second leg and the Canadian Championship Qualifying Round 3 tie 2-1 over the Vancouver Whitecaps at BC Place in Vancouver.
The Canadian Premier League has a new contender for goal of the season from York9 FC striker Rodrigo Gattas.
Major Arena Soccer League
Tatu, one of the most iconic names in arena soccer history, has assembled an exemplary coaching staff to guide the Mesquite Outlaws into their 2019-2020 inaugural season in the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL). Tatu will serve as head coach, while fellow Dallas Sidekicks legends Nick Stavrou and Sagu will serve as assistant coach and goalkeepers coach, respectively, to complete the Outlaws' inaugural coaching staff.
BASKETBALL
Women's National Basketball Association
The Phoenix Mercury will play at Veterans Memorial Coliseum in 2020 WNBA season while their current home Talking Stick Resort Arena undergoes renovations.
For Candice Dupree, it was business as usual, participating in her seventh WNBA All-Star Game when Team Wilson battled Team Delle Donne on Saturday afternoon in Las Vegas. For Indiana Fever teammate Erica Wheeler, it was the culmination of a hoops party weekend and validation of an All-Star journey that began on rough streets of Miami as a kid.Just the fifth undrafted WNBA All-Star in history and the only one to debut in the past 17 seasons, Wheeler was on fire and named the game's Most Valuable Player in an emotional postgame ceremony.
After becoming the first undrafted player to win the WNBA All-Star Game MVP, Erica Wheeler was in tears.
Brittney Griner showed out today during the WNBA All-Star Game throwing down THREE dunks.

NBA G League
The Boston Celtics announced today the team has entered into an agreement to purchase the NBA G League's Maine Red Claws, subject to successful finalization of the transaction and G League approval. Upon completion, the Red Claws would be wholly-owned by the Celtics as the team's official G League affiliate.
The Miami Heat announced that Eric Glass has been promoted to Head Coach of the Sioux Falls Skyforce. With the promotion, Glass becomes the 20thhead coach in Sioux Falls' 31-year franchise history and is the fifth-straight coach to be hand-selected by the HEAT following the single affiliation partnership established in 2013.
HOCKEY
American Hockey League
Iowa Wild General Manager Tom Kurvers announced today the American Hockey League (AHL) club has named Alex Tanguay as an assistant coach. Tanguay will join head coach Tim Army and fellow assistant coach Brett McLean behind the bench for the 2019-20 season.
National Women's Hockey League
North American Hockey League
The Corpus Christi IceRays, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), announced the team has promoted assistant coach Al Rooney to the role of IceRays Head Coach, effective immediately. The promotion coincides with the announcement from Robert Morris University (NCAA Div. I) that the Colonials have hired now-former IceRays Head Coach Ryan Cruthers as an assistant coach.
LACROSSE
Premier Lacrosse League

National Lacrosse League
The New York Riptide announced the hiring of Marshall Abrams as an Assistant Coach for the National Lacrosse League (NLL) team. Abrams, who will serve as Offensive Coordinator, is a decorated former professional lacrosse player with more than 10 years' experience as a box and field lacrosse coach.
Major League Lacrosse
Expectations were high leading into the 2019 MLL All-Star Game with the forty best lacrosse players in the world taking the field in Annapolis, Maryland. The game certainly didn't disappoint with Team Ice besting Team Fire 16-15 in overtime. Brendan Sunday of the Atlanta Blaze scored the game winner in overtime while Dylan Molloy of the New York Lizards was named New Balance Player of the Game.

World TeamTennis
The debut of World TeamTennis on CBS (July 21, 4 pm - 6 pm ET) featuring the Philadelphia Freedoms at Vegas Rollers delivered 409,000 viewers, making it the most watched match in the league's 44-year history.
The former Top 10 singles and current World No. 24 doubles player CoCo Vandeweghe had her San Diego Aviators debut performance interrupted by a fellow aviator... a very brave little bat.
