Las Vegas Hosts Bakersfield Tuesday, Alaska on Friday and Saturday

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers® posted a 1-0-0 record last week with a 6-3 win at Bakersfield on Friday.

With six straight wins, the Wranglers have taken a two-point lead over Bakersfield in the Pacific Division. The Wranglers will play Bakersfield at 7:05 pm on Tuesday at the Orleans Arena. Friday, March 30th the Wranglers will host the Alaska Aces at 7:05 pm. The first 2,000 fans to the game receive a Wranglers' playoff puck compliments of Health Plan of Nevada and Southwest Medical Associates. Saturday, March 31st, Las Vegas will host Alaska at 7:05 pm. Before the game, from 4:30 - 6:30 in the concourse of the Orleans Arena, fans may attend the Port of Subs Pre-Game Party.

Bakersfield, CA - The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the Bakersfield Condors 6-3 at Rabobank Arena on Friday night. Center Derek Edwardson led the charge with his second hat trick of the season as Las Vegas took sole possession of first place in the Pacific Division. Goalie Mike McKenna improved to 21-4-8 with 36 saves on the night. Left wing Shawn Limpright dished out three assists as the Wranglers won their sixth straight game. Forwards Steve Crampton and Nick Anderson each scored and added an assist in the victory. Rookie winger Adam Cracknell also scored in the win.

Bakersfield Condors - (40-15-10, 90 points, 2nd Place, Pacific)

The Condors trail the Wranglers by two points in the Pacific Division. The Condors are 8-2-0 in their last ten games played and 16-3-5 since January 31st. Forward Sean Venedam leads the Condors with 25 goals and 43 assists for 68 points in 63 games. Left wing Brett Lutes leads the team with 30 goals scored, and he has 33 assists totaling 63 points. In his last ten games he has 11 points. Lutes has scored the first goal of the game six different times this season, placing him third overall in the ECHL. Veteran winger Kevin St. Jacques has chipped in with 17 goals and 48 assists for 65 points. Condors forward Josh Liebenow is tied for first in the ECHL with seven game-winning goals this season. Goalie Jamie Hodson is 28-8-7 with a 2.54 goals against average.

Alaska Aces - (46-15-6, 98 points, 2nd Place, Pacific)

The Aces need seven points to clinch the National Conference and home-ice advantage throughout the playoffs. Center Kimbi Daniels leads Alaska in scoring with 18 goals and 61 assists for 79 points in 65 games played. Daniels 61 assists are the third highest total in the ECHL this season, and his 79 points are good enough for fourth place in the ECHL scoring race. The Aces also look to rookie forward Julian Talbot for scoring as well. Julian Talbot is the third leading rookie scorer in the ECHL with 18 goals and 31 assists for 49 points in 62 games played. Talbot is also the rookie plus/minus leader with a +24 rating. The Aces rely on their blue line for offensive production as well with defensemen Matt Shasby and Peter Metcalf. Metcalf tops all ECHL defensemen in points with 58. Metcalf is also second in the league with 67 minor penalties. Defenseman Matt Shasby is third in the ECHL among scoring defensemen. Shasby has eight goals and 41 assists for 49 points and leads the ECHL with a +40 rating. The Aces lean on Ryan Gustafson in net. Gustafson is among the league leaders this season with a record of 27-10-2, a 2.35 goals against average and a .918 save percentage in 39 appearances this season. The Aces are tied for the highest road-point total in the league this season with 46 points in 34 road games played. The Aces are 35-5-4 when they score first this season. Alaska has outscored their opponents 84-46 in first periods this season. That 38-goal differential is the largest such in the ECHL. Alaska is the most penalized team in the ECHL at 27.6 penalty minutes per game, and 1852 total penalty minutes.
