Johnstown Chiefs News Release


Johnstown traveled to Trenton on ;Wednesday, where theybeat the Titans by a score of 4-3, before heading out to Dayton. The Chiefs lost to the Bombers on ;Friday night 4-1, but pulled out a 3-2 win in the shootout on Saturday evening. Johnstown lost to Dayton at home 3-2 on Sunday.

Great Performances:

Maxime Boisclair scored in three consecutive games (3/21 - 3/24) and had four points (3g, 1a) in that span.

Ryan Munce made a season-high 45 saves and stopped six shooters in the shootout to earn the win on Saturday night in Dayton.

Jean Desrochers had his third multi-goal game of the season on Sunday against Dayton.

March 21 @ Trenton (4-3 W)

Gus Katsuras had a season-high three points, scoring a goal and adding two assists, as Johnstown beat Trenton on the road. Maxime Boisclair, Zbynek Hrdel and Dmitri Tarabrin each added goals for the Chiefs. Morgan Cey made34 saves, earning the win, and the Chiefs were 0-for-5 on the man-advantage.

March 23 @ Dayton (1-4 L)

Maxime Boisclair scored the Chiefs' only goal on the power play as Dayton cruised to a 4-1 win. Morgan Cey made 29 saves on 33 shots before being relieved by ;Ryan Munce, who stopped all five shots he faced. Johnstown was 1-for-5 on the power play.

March 24 @ Dayton (3-2 SOW)

Maxime ;Boisclair and Radek Smolenak scoerd in regulation time, while Zbynek Hrdel scored the Chiefs only goal in the shootout's sixth round as Johnstown earned a shootout win in ;Dayton. Ryan Munce made 45-of-47 saves in regulation and stopped six shooters in the shootout, and the Chiefs went 0-for-2 on the power play.

March 25 vs. Dayton (2-3 L)

Jean Desrochers scored two goals for Johnstown, but it wasn't enough as the Chiefs fell to Dayton 3-2 on home ice. Ryan Munce made 27 saves, and Johnstown was 0-for-6 on the man advantage.

Chiefs ;Notes: Johnstown has scored two power-play goals in its' last ten games... Maxime Boisclair scored goals in three consecutive games (3/21-3/24), but had his scoring streak snapped against Dayton on Sunday... Jean Desrochers' two goals on Sunday were one short of a season high, which the Dalhousie, ;Qc.-native set on opening night with a hat trick against Pensacola... Ryan Munce made 45 saves and stopped six shootout attempts to earn the win at Dayton on ;Saturday.
