Laredo Bucks News Release
LAREDO, Texas - The Laredo Bucks went 3-0-1 this past week. The Bucks beat Austin on the road 3-1 on Friday, and then fell 4-3 in a shootout at home to Wichita at the LEC on Saturday. Tuesday Laredo went on the road and beat the expansion Rocky Mountain Rage 5-1, then beat Colorado 3-1 on Wednesday. The Bucks have won four of their last five games, recording a standings point in all five and going 4-0-1. Laredo is a Southern Conference best 26-9-3 with 55 points and they lead the Southeast Division by ten points. The Bucks are currently on a six game road trip. Laredo returns home on Friday, February 9th, against the Arizona Sundogs. The Bucks are offering season tickets starting at $125 dollars. For more info call (956)-718-BUCK (2825).

2006-07 REGULAR SEASON: Laredo is 4-1-0 against the Rayz in 2006-07. The Bucks beat the Rayz 4-2 on 10/21 at the American Bank Center in the season opener for each team. The Rayz beat the Bucks 5-3 at the LEC on 10/31. Laredo beat the Rayz 3-2 on 12/03 with three third period goals. On 12/06 Laredo beat Corpus 2-1 in overtime on a goal by Jeff Bes at the LEC. On 12/22 the Bucks beat the Rayz 5-4 in overtime on a goal by Adam Rivet at the LEC. This is the sixth of 13 meetings this season.
2005-06 REGULAR SEASON: Laredo went 10-2-1 against Corpus in 05-06. The Bucks were 6-1-1 at the LEC and 4-1-0 in Corpus. Overall the Bucks outscored the Rayz 48-24.
All-time: The Bucks are 42-12-1 all-time against Corpus Christi, outscoring the Rayz 228-125. The Bucks are 24-4-1 at the LEC against Corpus.

2006-07 REGULAR SEASON: The Bucks beat the Scorpions 4-1 at the LEC on 11/15.
2005-06 REGULAR SEASON: Did not play.
All-time: The Bucks are 4-0-2 all-time against the Scorpions, including 3-0-0 at the LEC.
STREAK SAVER
- The Bucks beat the Colorado Eagles 3-1 on 01/24. With the win the Bucks stopped the Eagles 19 game home winning streak, two shy of the Bucks CHL record of 21 straight at home in the 2003-04 season.

- The Bucks are 16-0-1 this season when they have a player score two goals or more in a game. Forward Bobby Chaumont had two goals on 01/23 at RMR.

- The Bucks fired a season high 49 shots in a 4-3 shootout loss to WIC on 01/20. Laredo had 48 shots on 01/23 at RMR in a 5-1 win.
SEASON HIGH PART DEUX
- Laredo had a season high 23 shots in the 2nd period in a 5-1 win at RMR on 01/23. That eclipsed the previous high of 21 in the 2nd period on 12/01 vs. AUS.
WIDE SHOT MARGIN
- The Bucks out shot Wichita 49-15 on 01/20. The 34 shots disparity was the widest of the season. The previous was a 30 shot disparity against Arizona on 01/12.
SEASON LOW
- The Bucks held WIC to 15 shots in a 4-3 shootout loss on 01/20, matching the season low against ARZ on 01/12.
TOUGH LOSS PART TWO
- The Bucks took a 3-1 lead into the third period on 01/20 against WIC, but fell 4-3 in a shootout. This was the second time this season the Bucks have failed to win when leading after two periods. They allowed two goals in the last minute of regulation and lost 4-3 in overtime to OKC on 11/24. Laredo is now 16-0-2 when leading after two periods this season.

- 01/24/06 - WEDNESDAY - @ COLORADO - The defending CHL President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks rode a spectacular effort by goalie Eric Marvin as they beat the Colorado Eagles 3-1 at the Budweiser Events Center in front of a sellout crowd of 5,289 fans on Wednesday night. Marvin stopped 31 of 32 shots as the Bucks ended the Eagles 19 game home win streak, two shy of Laredo's CHL record of 21 straight on home ice back in 2003-04. The Bucks have won four of their last five games, recording a standings point in all five and going 4-0-1. Laredo is a Southern Conference best 26-9-3 with 55 points and they lead the Southeast Division by ten points. Marvin was brilliant in the win improving to 14-3-3. Marco Emond, the former Buck, played well stopping 21 of 23 shots, but fell to 20-4-0. FINAL SCORE Laredo 3, Colorado 1.

- 01/23/06 - TUESDAY - @ ROCKY MOUNTAIN - The defending CHL President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks beat the Rocky Mountain Rage 5-1 at the Broomfield Events Center in front 3,415 fans. Forward Bobby Chaumont scored a pair of goals as Laredo led from start to finish. The Bucks have recorded a standings point in four straight games and 12 of their last 13. Laredo is a Southern Conference best 25-9-3 with 53 points and they lead the Southeast Division by eight points. Kevin Reiter was solid in net stopping 25 of 26 shots and improving to 7-2-0. David Guerrera, the former Buck, allowed five goals on 23 shots in 30:38 and took the loss to fall to 8-15-3. Trevor Cunning stopped all 25 shots in 29:22 of work, but did not factor in the decision. FINAL SCORE Laredo 5, Rocky Mountain 1.

- 01/20/06 - SATURDAY - vs. WICHITA - The defending CHL President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks fell 4-3 in a shootout to the visiting Wichita Thunder in front of 5,559 fans at the LEC on Saturday night. Thunder goalie Sebastien Laplante was tremendous in net as he kept his team in the game and keyed the comeback victory for the visitors. The Bucks have scored a standings point in three straight games and 11 of their last 12. Laredo is a Southern Conference best 24-9-3 with 51 points and they lead the Southeast Division by eight points. Eric Marvin stopped 16 of 19 shots, and three of four in the shootout, but fell to 13-4-3. Sebastien Laplante was fabulous stopping 46 of 49 shots, then all five in the shootout to get the win and improve to 11-8-3. FINAL SCORE Wichita 4, Laredo 3 in a shootout.

- 01/19/06 - FRIDAY - @ AUSTIN - The defending CHL President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks got a pair of goals from forward Jeff Bes as they beat the Austin Ice Bats 3-1 at the Chaparral Ice Center on Friday night. Goalie Kevin Reiter was outstanding as the Bucks won for the tenth time in eleven games, and 15th time in the last 18. Laredo is a Southern Conference best 24-9-2 with 50 points and they lead the Southeast Division by nine points. Reiter was rock solid in net stopping 33 of 34 shots and improving to 6-2-0. Tony Quesada played well, allowing two goals on 31 shots, but fell to 0-2-0. FINAL SCORE Laredo 3, Austin 1.

- Single game tickets for the Bucks start at $14.95. Of the 32 home games, 25 will take place on either a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Game times will remain the same for the 2006-07 season. Weekday games begin at 7 p.m., while Friday and Saturday night games are at 7:30 p.m. Sunday games will be at 4 p.m.
