Gladiators forward Casey Pierro-Zabotel kicked off the scoring in the first period sending a wrist shot from the right-wing circle through traffic and past Stingrays goaltender Ryan Zapolski (L, 23 saves on 26 shots) at 13:42.
The Stingrays responded with two goals from Langkow 34 seconds apart to take a 2-1 lead midway through the second period. Defenseman Luka Vidmar added an assist. Seconds later, Langkow completed a 2-on-1 rush with forward Tyler Randell for his second tally of the game. Gladiators rookie Doug Jones knotted the contest back up jamming a shot under the pads of Zapolski off the right post at 12:46.
Defenseman Russ Sinkewich put the Gladiators up for good at 6:53 of the third period sending a drive over the blocker of Zapolski from between the faceoff circles. Both teams finished the game 0-for-3 on the power play.
