RALSTON, NE - Following a pair of victories in the final two games of the 2013-14 USHL regular season, a 3-2 shootout win on Friday at Scheels Arena in Fargo, North Dakota over the Fargo Force, and a 4-2 win over the Sioux Falls Stampede on Saturday at Sioux Falls Arena in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the Omaha Lancers capped their 28th regular season in the United States Hockey League at 39-14-7 and with 85 points, Omaha finished second in the USHL's Western Conference standings, poised for a clash with the third-seeded Sioux City Musketeers in the first round of the 2014 Clark Cup Playoffs.
Lancers captain Tucker Poolman played the hero for Omaha on Friday, scoring once in regulation before adding the game-winning tally in the shootout, but on Saturday, future Nebraska-Omaha Maverick Jake Randolph stole the show as the Duluth, Minnesota native notched a pair of assists in the season's final game to match, then surpass the USHL's Tier 1 Era (2002-present) single season assists record by posting his 60th helper of the season.
On Monday, the USHL announced the schedules for each of the Clark Cup Playoffs' four first round series. The schedule for the Lancers' best-of-five game Western Conference Semi-Final series vs. Sioux City is included below:
